Picked this up for just £2.75 and I must say, it sounds brilliant when you crank up the volume. Alright, I know 80s CDs can be a bit of a gamble, but this one's got a great low end and plenty of room, especially on "Let's Stay Together" – it's absolutely stunning.
Possibly Turner's most cherished album from the '80s, hailing from 1984. Packed with chart-topping singles and stunning layered compositions, it's a delight for synth and guitar enthusiasts. A worthy addition to any collection. While the songs didn't blow me away, Turner's vocals are exceptional, and for nostalgic purposes alone, this album delivers. With tracks penned by Bowie, Holly Knight, Knopfler, and Al Green, who am I to argue? Standout tracks include "What's Love Got To Do With It", "Private Dancer", and "Better Be Good To Me". The sound quality is better than average. Highly recommended. 3.5 stars
This record sounds phenomenal. It's sharp, distinct, incredibly well-balanced, and stunningly bright. I'm in love with the album and its sound!
Awesome audio, super loud and powerful, with a massive punch and a sound that's incredibly rich and vibrant,
Over the years, I've typically used the star rating to judge my own vinyl record's quality, but here I'm rating this one based on over four decades of ownership since it was fresh out of the shrink wrap. It's been through thick and thin with me, surviving every challenge I've thrown its way. Even today, it sounds incredible, having been spun on all sorts of setups with iffy needles and stored in not-so-great conditions as I've moved around and gone through phases of vinyl obsession. I must've played this record at least a hundred times, and it still sounds as fantastic as the day I bought it. If you come across one of these in decent used condition, grab it without hesitation.
