Teun Verbruggen

Teun Verbruggen is a dynamic and versatile Belgian drummer, born in April 1975, who has carved out a unique niche in the avant-garde jazz and creative improvisation scenes. With a career spanning over three decades, Verbruggen's musical journey began at the tender age of eight, and he honed his skills at the Conservatory of Brussels under the guidance of drummer Dre Pallemaerts. Known for his boundless energy and innovative approach, Verbruggen is a hyper-talented artist who defies easy genre classification. He is the founder of the transatlantic quartet Blind Io and runs the experimental jazz label Rat Records. Verbruggen's collaborations are as diverse as his musical palette, ranging from performances with FES to his work with Hypnote Records. His music is a testament to his inquisitive spirit and multi-faceted artistry, making him a standout figure in the Belgian jazz scene.
