Oliver Davis nous offre avec "Flight" un voyage musical captivant à travers les paysages sonores du néoclassique. Sorti le 3 mars 2015 sous le label Signum Records, cet album de 50 minutes est une exploration harmonieuse et dynamique des possibilités du violon et des cordes.
L'album s'ouvre avec "Flight", une pièce répétée cinq fois, chacune variant en intensité et en émotion, avant de plonger dans le "Concerto pour violon et cordes" en cinq mouvements. Oliver Davis démontre ici sa maîtrise du langage musical néoclassique, créant des mélodies envoûtantes et des harmonies riches.
La seconde moitié de l'album est consacrée au "Concerto pour violon, piano et cordes" intitulé "Voyager", également en cinq mouvements. Cette œuvre montre la profondeur et la diversité du talent de Davis, avec des passages tantôt doux et mélancoliques, tantôt énergiques et triomphants.
L'album se clôt avec "Air Waltz" et "Airborne Dances", une série de danses aériennes qui laissent une impression durable. "Epilogue" apporte une conclusion apaisante à cette expérience musicale.
