Often hailed as the most prolific ballet composer of all time, Pugni crafted over 100 original scores and adapted or supplemented many more throughout his career. His compositions, such as "La Esmeralda" and "Catarina or La Fille du Bandit," have left an indelible mark on the ballet world. Pugni's journey took him from studying in Milan to making a substantial impact in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where he passed away in 1870.
