Angelo Verploegen

Angelo Verploegen is a versatile Dutch jazz trumpeter, flugelhorn player, and composer, born on December 22, 1961, in Oss. Emerging in the late 1980s, he has since made a significant impact on the Dutch jazz scene with his lyrical and expressive playing. A graduate of the Amsterdam University with a degree in Musicology and a trained trumpeter, Angelo has also shared his expertise as a professor at the Conservatories of Arnhem and Utrecht. His music is a testament to his 25-year journey in composition, offering a rich and diverse sonic landscape. Beyond his solo work, Angelo has collaborated with notable artists and produced albums for Challenge/A-Records, showcasing his prowess in both large and small ensemble settings. His deep connection to his hometown, Oss, and his dedication to his craft shine through in every note he plays.
