      Yesterday's New Quintet is the brainchild of renowned producer Madlib, a project that blends the boundaries of jazz and hip-hop into a unique nu-jazz experience. Presented as a fictional quintet, the group features Madlib alongside his alter egos: Monk Hughes on bass, Ahmad Miller on keys, Joe McDurfey on drums, and Malik Flavors on saxophone. Debuting in 2001 with the album "Angles Without Edges," Yesterday's New Quintet showcases Madlib's signature eclectic production style, weaving intricate samples and live instrumentation into a cohesive and captivating sound.
