      Album Details

Dive into the captivating world of classical music with Nils Mönkemeyer's stunning album, "William Walton, Max Bruch, Arvo Pärt." Released on August 11, 2017, under Sony Music Classical Local, this exquisite collection of chamber music showcases Mönkemeyer's virtuosity on the viola, accompanied by the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Markus Poschner.

The album spans a rich tapestry of compositions, beginning with William Walton's Concerto for Viola and Orchestra, a three-movement masterpiece that unfolds with grace and intensity. Max Bruch's Kol Nidrei, Op. 47, arranged for viola and orchestra, offers a hauntingly beautiful interlude, while his Romance for Viola and Orchestra, Op. 85, adds a touch of lyrical elegance. The album concludes with Arvo Pärt's Fratres, a minimalist gem that explores the depths of human emotion with its hauntingly repetitive motifs.

Whether you're a seasoned aficionado or a newcomer to the genre, Nils Mönkemeyer's masterful performances and the orchestral brilliance of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra promise an unforgettable listening experience.
