      About Judith Weir

      Dame Judith Weir, a distinguished British composer, has made an indelible mark on the classical music scene with her rich and evocative compositions. Born into a Scottish family and raised near London, Weir's musical journey began as an oboist before she turned her focus to composition, studying under esteemed mentors such as John Tavener and Robin Holloway.
