      Tony Levin is a renowned American musician and composer celebrated for his mastery of electric bass guitars, Chapman Stick, and upright bass. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 6, 1946, Levin's career spans decades and genres, making him a staple in progressive rock, art rock, and jazz fusion. He is best known for his collaborations with iconic bands and artists such as King Crimson, where he played from 1981 to 2021, and Peter Gabriel. Levin's versatility extends beyond his bass playing; he also sings and plays the synthesizer, adding depth to his musical contributions. His work with Liquid Tension Experiment, Bruford Levin Upper Extremities, and HoBoLeMa further showcases his diverse talents. Since 2010, Levin has led his own band, Stick Men, continuing to innovate and inspire. Beyond music, Levin is also a photographer and author, sharing his experiences and insights through his writings and visual art.
