      About Břetislav Ludvík

      Břetislav Ludvík was a versatile Czech artist born on July 31, 1882, in Prague, and passed away on December 6, 1956, in the same city. He was a journalist, theater worker, prose writer, dramatist, author of comedies and librettos, actor, and scholar of prominent Czech writers. Ludvík's work spans various genres, including chamber music, and his contributions to Czech literature and theater are notable. His life was marked by his involvement in the illegal Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (KSČ) group, for which he was arrested and sentenced to six years in prison. Despite the hardships, his artistic legacy endures, offering a rich tapestry of creative expression that continues to captivate audiences.
