      Album Details

Dive into the ethereal soundscape of "Voices," a captivating new age album by the legendary Greek electronic composer Vangelis, released in 1996. This enchanting collection of eight tracks, spanning 47 minutes, is a testament to Vangelis's mastery of blending electronic textures with organic elements, creating a serene and evocative atmosphere.

"Voices" opens with its titular track, a sweeping, atmospheric piece that sets the tone for the album's introspective journey. The album features a mix of instrumental tracks and collaborations, notably "Come to Me," which showcases the haunting vocals of Caroline Lavelle. Other standout tracks include the ambient "Echoes" and the reflective "Ask the Mountains," which was co-released as a single with Stina Nordenstam.

The album's release history is a bit of a mystery, with some sources indicating an October 1995 release date, while others confirm the February 1996 release under the Rhino label. Regardless of the exact release date, "Voices" made a significant impact, reaching the #58 position in the UK Albums Chart in March 1996.

Vangelis's signature style shines through in "Voices," with his signature use of synthesizers and orchestral elements creating a rich tapestry of sound. Whether you're a longtime fan of Vangelis or new to his work, "Voices" offers a compelling exploration of his unique musical vision. The album's intricate compositions and soothing melodies make it a perfect addition to any new age music collection.
