      Album Details

Experience the vibrant spirit of French music with Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra's "Vive la France!" This captivating album, released in 1994, is a celebration of Jacques Offenbach's timeless compositions, offering a delightful blend of overtures, waltzes, polkas, and the iconic Can-Can. The album spans a generous 1 hour and 44 minutes, featuring 21 tracks that showcase the orchestra's virtuosity and Kunzel's masterful conducting.

From the lively "Gaîté parisienne" to the enchanting "Orphée aux enfers" and the comedic "La belle Hélène," each piece is a testament to Offenbach's wit and musical genius. The album also includes lesser-known gems like "Vert-vert 'Kakadu'" and "La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein," providing a comprehensive journey through Offenbach's diverse repertoire.
