      Album Details

Giovanni Mirabassi, the Italian-born, French-adopted pianist, delivers a captivating live performance with his trio in "Viva V.E.R.D.I.", released in 2013 under the CAM JAZZ label. Recorded at the Goyang Aram Nuri Concert Hall in South Korea on November 27, 2011, this post-fusion contemporary jazz album spans a duration of 64 minutes, featuring eight tracks that showcase Mirabassi's virtuosic skills and innovative compositions.

The album opens with the energetic "Viva V.E.R.D.I." and continues with a mix of original compositions and reinterpretations, including "A Song For Sabrina", "Anna And Sevy", and "Bebè". Each track is a testament to the trio's dynamic interplay, with Gianluca Renzi on bass and Lukmil Perez on drums complementing Mirabassi's piano mastery. The album also features a unique rendition of the traditional Korean folk song "Arirang", demonstrating the trio's versatility and cultural appreciation.

"Viva V.E.R.D.I." is not just a live album; it's a snapshot of a moment in time, capturing the raw energy and spontaneity of a live performance. The album's title track, as noted by FIP in 2013, is a cry of revolt, reflecting Mirabassi's bold and expressive musical language. Whether you're a longtime fan of Giovanni Mirabassi or a newcomer to his music, this album offers an engaging and immersive listening experience that highlights the power of live jazz performance.
