      About Ferenc von Vecsey

      Ferenc von Vecsey, born Franz von Vecsey on March 23, 1893, in Budapest, Hungary, was a prodigious violinist and composer whose talent was evident from a young age. A protégé of the renowned violinists Jenő Hubay and Leopold Auer, Vecsey quickly rose to prominence in Europe as a virtuoso. He was also the dedicatee of Jean Sibelius's famous violin concerto, a testament to his skill and influence. Vecsey's discography includes a significant amount of material recorded in 1911 and 1935, showcasing his enduring legacy. His compositions, such as the Caprice n.2 "Cascade," highlight his unique musical voice.
