Dalibor Cyril Vačkář was a prolific Czech composer, born on September 19, 1906, in Korčula, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, now Croatia. Hailing from a musical family, he was the son of the renowned musician and composer Václav Vačkář. Vačkář's contributions spanned various genres, including classical music, film scores, and ballets. Notably, he composed the successful ballet "Švanda dudák" in 1954, based on the work of Czech playwright Josef Kajetán Tyl. Beyond his musical achievements, Vačkář was also a writer, dramatist, and poet, showcasing his multifaceted artistic talent.
