Released on June 15, 2018, under the Mezzoforte label, this album is a captivating collection of trumpet concertos that showcase the virtuosity and richness of the instrument. The album spans 37 minutes and features a variety of compositions, including works by renowned composers such as Joseph Haydn, Georg Philipp Telemann, Antonio Vivaldi, and George Frideric Handel.

Scherchen's masterful direction brings to life the intricate and dynamic pieces, performed with precision and passion by the Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera. The album opens with Haydn's Concerto for 1 Trumpet and Orchestra in E-Flat Major, Hob.VIIe, followed by Telemann's Concerto for 1 Trumpet and Orchestra in D Major, IGT 21.
