With a career spanning over four decades, Alden has established himself as a versatile and virtuosic musician, known for his exceptional soloing and accompaniment styles, characterized by an unerring sense of swing and a deep allegiance to the song. He began his musical journey at the age of ten, initially playing piano, harmonica, tenor guitar, and banjo before discovering the six-string guitar and the works of jazz greats like Barney Kessel, Charlie Christian, and Django Reinhardt. Alden's impressive career includes collaborations with numerous jazz legends, recordings for Concord Jazz, and appearances on notable albums and soundtracks, such as Woody Allen's "Sweet and Lowdown."
