      Album Details

In the annals of jazz history, few collaborations shine as brightly as the one between Mel Tormé and Buddy Rich. Their 1978 album, "Together Again for the First Time," is a testament to the magic that happens when two legendary talents come together. Originally recorded and released as a direct-to-disc LP, this album captures the raw, unfiltered energy of a live performance, making it a unique and captivating listen.

The album features seven tracks, each a masterclass in vocal jazz and big band brilliance. From the sultry "Blues In the Night" to the upbeat "You Are the Sunshine of My Life," Mel Tormé's velvety vocals and Buddy Rich's explosive drumming create a dynamic interplay that keeps the listener engaged from start to finish. The album also includes a Christmas track, "Soon It's Gonna Rain / Here Is That Rainy Day," showcasing the duo's versatility and range.
