      Danilo Pérez is a Grammy Award-winning Panamanian pianist, composer, and educator who has made significant waves in the world of jazz. Born in 1965, Pérez began his musical journey at the tender age of three, studying classical piano at the National Conservatory of Panama. His career took off when he joined Dizzy Gillespie's orchestra in 1989, followed by collaborations with jazz greats like Wayne Shorter. Pérez is not just a virtuoso on the keys; he's also a passionate educator, founding the Berklee Global Jazz Institute and the Panama Jazz Festival. His music, a vibrant blend of Latin jazz and traditional jazz, reflects his Panamanian roots and his global perspective. Beyond music, Pérez is a dedicated social activist and humanitarian, using his art to bridge cultural divides and promote understanding.
