      About Thomas Linley Jr.

      Thomas Linley Jr., born in Bath in 1756, was a prodigious English composer and violinist whose brief life left an indelible mark on the music world. Known as the "English Mozart," Linley Jr. displayed extraordinary musical talent from a young age, performing violin concertos by the time he was seven. As the eldest son of the renowned composer and harpsichordist Thomas Linley Sr., he was immersed in a musical environment that nurtured his gifts. His compositions, including cantatas and theatre music, showcase his virtuosity and innovation. Tragically, Linley Jr.'s life was cut short in a boating accident at the age of 22, but his legacy endures, inspiring admiration for his precocious talent and the promise of what might have been.
