      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the evocative soundscape of Howard Shore's "The Song of Names," the original motion picture soundtrack for François Girard's 2019 drama film of the same name. Adapted from Norman Lebrecht's novel, the film stars Tim Roth and Clive Owen, and Shore's score beautifully complements the narrative, offering a rich and textured listening experience.

This 39-minute album, released on December 13, 2019, under Decca Music Group Ltd., features 22 tracks that blend classical influences with original compositions. The score showcases Shore's mastery of orchestration, with pieces like "The Song of Names for Violin and Cantor" and "Paganini: 24 Caprices for Violin, Op. 1, MS. 25 - No. 9 in E Major 'La Chasse'" highlighting his ability to weave intricate melodies and haunting themes. The album also includes performances by renowned violinist Ray Chen, adding a layer of virtuosity to the score.

"The Song of Names" is not just a soundtrack but a standalone musical journey that stands on its own. The album seamlessly integrates classical pieces by composers like J.S. Bach and Niccolò Paganini with Shore's original compositions, creating a cohesive and captivating listening experience. Whether you're a fan of film scores, classical music, or simply appreciate beautifully crafted music, this album is sure to resonate with you.
