      Album Details

Dive into the heart-pounding world of political tension and urban chaos with Graeme Revell's "The Siege" soundtrack, a gripping score that accompanies the 1998 action thriller film directed by Edward Zwick. Comprising 12 intense tracks, this album captures the essence of a city under siege, where the secret U.S. abduction of a suspected terrorist sparks a wave of terrorist attacks in New York City, leading to the declaration of martial law. Revell's masterful composition, released on January 1, 1998, under Varese Sarabande, is a testament to his prowess in blending electronic and modern classical elements to create a sonic landscape that mirrors the film's high-stakes narrative. From the ominous "Theater Bombing" to the tense "Investigation" and the climactic "The Prisoners' Release," each track is a pulse-pounding journey through the film's dramatic unfolding. With a duration of just 29 minutes, this soundtrack is a powerful, concise exploration of fear, urgency, and the complexities of urban conflict. Whether you're a fan of intense film scores or simply appreciate powerful electronic music, "The Siege" is a compelling addition to any collection.

      About Graeme Revell

Graeme Revell is a versatile and acclaimed New Zealand musician and composer who has left an indelible mark on both the industrial music scene and the world of film scoring. Born in Auckland in 1955, Revell's journey began with his pioneering work in the industrial rock/electronic rock group SPK in the 1980s, where he gained prominence for his innovative and boundary-pushing sound. A classically trained pianist and French horn player, Revell's musical foundations are as solid as they are diverse.

Transitioning to film scoring in the 1990s, Revell has since composed for a multitude of iconic films, including "The Crow," "Sin City," "Daredevil," and "The Passion of the Christ." His ability to blend electronic textures with orchestral elements has made his scores instantly recognizable, adding depth and emotion to the cinematic experiences he contributes to. Beyond his film work, Revell has also collaborated with various artists and explored unique musical projects, such as composing music made entirely of digitally manipulated insect sounds. His extensive discography and influential career make Graeme Revell a standout figure in both the music and film industries.
