Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Renaissance music with Göran Söllscher's "The Renaissance Album." This exquisite collection, released in 2005 under the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label, spans a captivating hour and four minutes, featuring 34 meticulously crafted tracks that showcase the virtuosity of the lute and other period instruments.

Göran Söllscher, renowned for his mastery of the guitar and lute, curates a journey through the musical landscapes of Spain, England, Italy, and France. The album opens with the intricate "Fantasía que contrahaze la harpa en la manera de Lud." by Alonso de Mudarra, setting the stage for a diverse array of compositions that include pavans, galliards, fantasias, and dances. Each piece is a testament to the composer's skill and the performer's artistry, from the hauntingly beautiful "Lachrimae, 1604: Semper Dowland semper dolens" by John Dowland to the lively "Branles de village" from France.
