      Album Details

Paul Chihara's "The Prince of the City," released on January 1, 1981, under JAY Records, is a captivating orchestral journey that spans 38 minutes. This album is a symphonic narrative, composed as a soundtrack to the 1981 film of the same name, directed by Sidney Lumet. Chihara, known for his evocative and dynamic compositions, masterfully weaves a tapestry of sound that mirrors the film's gritty, urban landscape and complex characters.

The album opens with "Overture," setting the stage for the dramatic unfolding of events. Each subsequent track, from "The Set Up" to "Epilogue," is a chapter in this sonic story, capturing the tension, betrayal, and redemption that define the film's narrative. Chihara's score is rich in texture and emotion, blending orchestral grandeur with subtle, intimate moments that draw the audience into the heart of the story.

"The Prince of the City" is not just a soundtrack but a standalone musical experience. Chihara's compositions are a testament to his ability to create music that is both deeply evocative and universally resonant. Whether you're a fan of film scores, orchestral music, or simply appreciate well-crafted compositions, this album offers a rich and rewarding listening experience.
