      Album Details

Glenn Dicterow's "The Music Of Mozart & McKinley" is a captivating classical album released on January 1, 2002, under the MMC Recordings label. Spanning a concise yet impactful 47 minutes, this album showcases Dicterow's mastery of the violin and his deep connection with the compositions of Mozart and McKinley.

The album opens with Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat Major for Violin, Viola, and Orchestra (K.364), a three-movement work that exemplifies Mozart's genius. Dicterow's interpretation of the Allegro maestoso, Andante, and Presto movements is both technically impressive and emotionally resonant, offering a fresh perspective on these timeless pieces.

The second half of the album features the Concert Variations, a series of intricate and varied movements that highlight Dicterow's virtuosity. From the rapid-fire Prestissimo of Variation I to the powerful Con forza of Variation III, each variation offers a unique exploration of the theme, Lamento. Dicterow's ability to navigate these complex pieces with such precision and passion is a testament to his skill as a violinist.

Throughout the album, Dicterow's playing is characterized by a rich, warm tone and a deep understanding of the music's emotional nuances. His interpretations are both respectful of the composers' intentions and infused with his own unique artistic vision. The result is an album that is as intellectually stimulating as it is emotionally engaging, offering a rewarding listening experience for classical music enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
