      About Johnny Hodges

      Johnny Hodges, born on July 25, 1907, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, was an American alto saxophonist renowned for his exquisite tone and expressive playing. He is best known for his illustrious career with Duke Ellington's big band, where he served as the lead alto saxophonist for many years.
