      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of chamber music with Solenne Païdassi's "The Art of the Violin." Released in 2013 under the Indésens label, this album is a testament to Païdassi's virtuosity and her deep connection with the violin. Spanning a little over an hour, the album features 12 tracks that showcase a warm-hearted exploration of Franco-Belgian violin sonatas, including works by renowned composers.

Païdassi's collaboration with pianist Laurent Wagschal results in a harmonious blend of sound that brings to life the intricate compositions. The album opens with the intense and dramatic "Sonate No. 1 in D Minor, Op. 75" by Eugène Ysaÿe, followed by a soothing "Adagio" that provides a moment of respite. The sonatas continue to unfold with a mix of allegros and adagios, each piece showcasing Païdassi's technical prowess and emotional depth.

The album also includes the famous "Meditation religieuse" from Jules Massenet's opera "Thaïs," arranged for violin and piano, adding a touch of lyrical beauty to the collection. Païdassi's interpretation of these pieces is both sensitive and powerful, making this album a delightful journey through the rich tradition of violin sonatas.

Whether you are a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer looking to explore the genre, "The Art of the Violin: Solenne Païdassi" offers a rewarding listening experience that highlights the timeless appeal of the violin.
