      Jean-François Durez is a versatile French jazz musician renowned for his mastery of piano, vibraphone, and marimba, as well as his compositions. Born and raised in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, Durez began his musical journey at a young age, studying percussion and piano at his local music school before earning gold medals and a superior diploma from the Conservatoire de Valenciennes. His musical prowess has led him to perform with prestigious orchestras such as the Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine and the Orchestre Lamoureux. Durez's eclectic style shines in his collaborations, notably with accordionist Richard Galliano, with whom he has explored the works of Astor Piazzolla and Erik Satie, blending classical and tango influences. His solo works, including "The Art of the Percussions" and "JF Durez meets Richard Galliano," showcase his innovative approach to jazz and percussion.
