      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of classical music with Gautier Capuçon's exquisite album, "Tchaikovsky: Rococo's Variations - Prokofiev: Sinfonia Concertante." Released in 2010 under the prestigious Warner Classics label, this album is a testament to Capuçon's virtuosity and his deep connection with the music.

The album opens with Tchaikovsky's enchanting "Variations on a Rococo Theme for Cello and Orchestra, Op. 33," a piece that showcases Capuçon's technical brilliance and emotional depth. Each variation is a journey in itself, taking you through a range of moods and tempos, from the gentle "Moderato semplice" to the lively "Allegro vivo."

The second half of the album is dedicated to Prokofiev's "Sinfonia Concertante in E Minor, Op. 125." This three-movement work is a powerful display of Capuçon's ability to convey both the raw energy and the subtle nuances of Prokofiev's music. The "Andante" movements are particularly noteworthy, highlighting Capuçon's ability to draw out the melancholic beauty of the music.

Throughout the album, Capuçon is accompanied by the renowned Mariinsky Orchestra, conducted by Valery Gergiev.
