      About Bronislaw Huberman

Bronislaw Huberman (1882-1947) was a celebrated Jewish-Polish violinist renowned for his individualistic and deeply personal interpretations. A student of the legendary Joseph Joachim, Huberman stood as one of the most eminent violinists of his generation, earning praise from esteemed conductors like Furtwangler, Toscanini, and Walter. Beyond his musical prowess, Huberman was a humanitarian, dedicating himself in the early 1930s to saving Jewish musicians in Europe before the Holocaust. He founded the Palestine Symphony, now the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, rescuing an estimated 1000 lives. His legacy endures not just for his extraordinary artistry, but also for his courage and compassion in the face of adversity.
