      Hilary Tann was a celebrated Welsh composer who made her home in the United States, leaving an indelible mark on the world of music. Born on November 2, 1947, in Wales, Tann's formative years and cultural affinity with Japan deeply influenced her imaginative and prolific body of work. Residing in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate New York, she served as the John Howard Payne Professor of Music and was a beloved mentor and teacher at Union College in Schenectady, NY. Tann's music, characterized by its creativity and profound connection to nature, continues to resonate with audiences worldwide. Her legacy endures as a testament to her unwavering dedication to meaningful music.
