      Carson P. Cooman is a versatile American composer and organist, born on June 12, 1982, in Rochester, New York. With a catalog of hundreds of works, his compositions span a wide range of forms, from intimate solo instrumental pieces to grand operas and orchestral works. Cooman's music draws inspiration from diverse genres, including Gregorian chant and medieval influences, creating a unique and engaging sound. As an active organ recitalist, he specializes in new music, presenting programs that highlight the rich diversity of 20th and 21st-century organ repertoire. Cooman's impressive credentials include studies with renowned composers such as Bernard Rands, Judith Weir, and Alan Fletcher. Currently, he serves as Research Associate in Music and Composer in Residence at the Memorial Church, continuing to enrich the musical landscape with his innovative and compelling works.
