      About Rudolf Kempe

      Rudolf Kempe (1910–1976) was a distinguished German conductor whose career spanned some of the most prestigious stages and orchestras of the 20th century. Born near Dresden, Kempe's musical journey began at the age of six with piano lessons, eventually leading him to the violin. His professional trajectory took off after his military service, where he served as the Director of Opera at Chemnitz and later conducted at the Weimar opera.
