      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the vibrant and dynamic world of Roberto Sierra's "Sinfonia No. 4, Fandangos & Carnaval," a captivating orchestral journey released in 2013 under the Naxos label. This album is a testament to Sierra's unique ability to blend traditional and contemporary musical elements, creating a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly innovative.

The album opens with "Fandangos," a lively and rhythmic piece that sets the tone for the rest of the collection. Sierra's Sinfonia No. 4 is a four-movement masterpiece, each section offering a distinct mood and tempo, from the moderately fast first movement to the rapid and rhythmic finale. The symphony is a showcase of Sierra's compositional prowess, with intricate melodies and harmonies that challenge and delight the ear.

The second half of the album is dedicated to "Carnaval," a five-movement suite inspired by the vibrant and colorful celebrations of the carnival. Each movement is named after a mythical creature, from the playful "Gargoyles" to the majestic "Phoenix," and Sierra's music brings these creatures to life with vivid and imaginative orchestration.

Performed by the Nashville Symphony under the direction of Giancarlo Guerrero, this album is a testament to the ensemble's skill and versatility. The musicians bring Sierra's compositions to life with precision and passion, capturing the essence of each piece and delivering a performance that is both technically impressive and emotionally resonant.

With a duration of just over 55 minutes, "Sinfonia No. 4, Fandangos & Carnaval" is a compact yet comprehensive exploration of Sierra's orchestral works. Whether you're a longtime fan of Sierra's music or a newcomer looking to explore his work, this album is a fantastic starting point. It's a celebration of music that transcends borders and genres, offering a listening experience that is as enriching as it is entertaining.
