      About Franz Schmidt

Franz Schmidt, born in Bratislava in 1874, was an Austrian composer, cellist, and pianist whose life and work bridged the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the early 20th century. A pupil of the renowned Leschetizky and Bruckner, Schmidt's musical journey began as a cellist in the Vienna Court Opera.
