      Album Details

Anne Queffélec, the renowned French pianist, presents a captivating journey through the classical piano repertoire with her upcoming album, "Scarlatti, Beethoven, Schubert, Satie, Debussy, Ravel..." set to release on November 26, 2024, under Warner Classics. This extensive collection spans over four hours and eleven minutes, featuring 57 tracks that showcase the breadth and depth of Anne Queffélec's artistry.

The album is a testament to Queffélec's versatility, encompassing works from the Baroque period to the early 20th century. It opens with pieces by Domenico Scarlatti, including the Keyboard Sonata in B Minor, Kk. 27 and the "Pastorale" in D Minor, Kk. 9. The program then moves to the Romantic era with Franz Schubert's Fantasia for Piano Four-Hands in F Minor and his Impromptus, Op. 90. Erik Satie's atmospheric "Gymnopédies" and "Gnossiennes" provide a contemplative interlude, while Claude Debussy's "12 Études" offer a technical and expressive challenge that Queffélec meets with aplomb.

Maurice Ravel's works, including the "Piano Concerto in G Major" and "Le Tombeau de Couperin," are highlights of the album, demonstrating Queffélec's ability to convey both lyricism and virtuosity. The album also includes pieces by Frédéric Chopin, such as his four Scherzos and the "Fantaisie-Impromptu," as well as Franz Liszt's "Liebesträume" and Francis Poulenc's "Concerto for Two Pianos in D Minor." A bonus is the inclusion of Joseph Haydn's Keyboard Concerto in D Major, with cadenzas by Badura-Skoda.

Anne Queffélec's interpretation of these works is marked by her signature elegance, precision, and emotional depth. Each piece is rendered with a keen sense of style and historical context, making this album a comprehensive exploration of the piano repertoire. Whether you are a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this album offers a rich and rewarding listening experience.
