      Album Details

Henri Sauguet's "Symphony No. 2, Allegorique" is a captivating journey through the seasons, composed with a clarity and tonal richness that reflects the influences of Milhaud and Satie. Released on February 28, 1997, under the Marco-Polo label, this symphony is a testament to Sauguet's ability to convey the essence of nature's cycles through music. The album spans a duration of 1 hour and 27 minutes, divided into 12 tracks that meticulously depict the transitions from winter to spring, summer to autumn, and back to winter. Conducted by Antonio de Almeida and performed by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra and Moscow Capella, with Geneviève Ruscica on soprano, the symphony is a harmonious blend of orchestral brilliance and vocal elegance. Each movement is a vivid portrayal of seasonal changes, from the stark beauty of winter to the vibrant energy of spring, the warmth of summer, and the melancholic hues of autumn. This album is a must-listen for classical music enthusiasts, offering a profound and immersive experience that showcases Sauguet's unique compositional style and the orchestral prowess of the performers.
