      About Sergey Ostrovsky

      Sergey Ostrovsky is a renowned violinist, conductor, and professor of violin at the Geneva Haute Ecole de Musique. Born in 1975 in Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod), Russia, to a family of musicians, Ostrovsky began his violin journey at the age of six. He studied under the guidance of David Lapidus and now plays a prestigious 1716 violin made by Giovanni. As the first violinist and founder of the "Aviv" string quartet, Ostrovsky has made a significant impact in the world of chamber music. His passion for education extends to conducting both youth and professional orchestras, showcasing his dedication to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
