      Album Details

Dive into the enchanting world of Frédéric Chopin's piano masterpieces with Arthur Rubinstein's captivating rendition, "Rubinstein plays Chopin - Preludes and Waltzes." This exquisite collection, released on Heritage Records in 2013, showcases Rubinstein's unparalleled artistry and deep connection with Chopin's music. Spanning a generous 82 minutes, the album features 38 tracks that encapsulate the essence of Chopin's genius, performed with Rubinstein's signature elegance and virtuosity.

The album opens with Chopin's iconic "Preludes, Op. 28," a cycle of 24 preludes that explore a wide range of moods and technical challenges. Rubinstein's interpretations are nothing short of breathtaking, each prelude revealing a new facet of his profound understanding of Chopin's compositional language. From the serene beauty of the C Major Prelude to the stormy intensity of the A Minor, Rubinstein navigates the cycle with effortless grace and precision.

The second half of the album is dedicated to Chopin's waltzes, a genre in which the composer's lyrical genius and rhythmic inventiveness shine brightly. Rubinstein's performances of these waltzes are a testament to his ability to capture the essence of each piece, from the delicate charm of the "Grande valse brillante" in E-flat Major to the poignant melancholy of the B Minor Waltz. Each waltz is a miniature masterpiece, and Rubinstein's interpretations bring out the unique character of each one.
