      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Anton Rubinstein's piano masterpieces with the album "RUBINSTEIN: Fantaisie Op. 84 / Concertstuck Op. 113." Released in 1991 under the Marco-Polo label, this collection showcases Rubinstein's virtuosity and the rich, romantic compositions that defined his era. The album features two significant works: the Piano Fantasia, Op. 84, and the Concertstuck in A-Flat Major, Op. 113, each divided into multiple movements that highlight the depth and complexity of Rubinstein's musical genius.

The Piano Fantasia, Op. 84, begins with an "Allegro moderato" that sets a lively yet measured pace, followed by a "Moderato" that offers a more reflective mood. The "Moderato assai" and concluding "Allegro" movements further explore the emotional and technical range of the piano, making this fantasia a true showcase of Rubinstein's skill. The Concertstuck in A-Flat Major, Op. 113, complements this with its own trio of movements: "Moderato assai," "Con moto moderato," and "Allegro vivace," each bringing a unique character and energy to the performance.

Performed by the talented Joseph Banowetz on piano, with the support of the Czecho-Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Oliver von Dohnányi, this album captures the essence of Rubinstein's compositions with precision and passion. The collaboration between these artists brings out the nuances and intricacies of Rubinstein's works, making this a standout recording for both classical music enthusiasts and those new to the genre.

With a total duration of one hour and two minutes, this album offers a comprehensive exploration of Rubinstein's musical legacy. Whether you're a fan of romantic piano music or simply looking to expand your classical music collection, "RUBINSTEIN: Fantaisie Op. 84 / Concertstuck Op. 113" is a must-listen that will leave you inspired and deeply moved.
