      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the rich, romantic soundscapes of Anton Rubinstein's Chamber Works, a captivating collection of compositions that showcase the Russian master's prowess in the chamber music genre. Released in 2016, this album brings together two of Rubinstein's most celebrated works: the Octet in D Major, Op. 9, and the Quintet for Piano & Winds in F Major, Op. 55. Each piece is a testament to Rubinstein's ability to blend lyrical melodies with intricate harmonies, creating a sound that is both intimate and grand.

The Octet in D Major, Op. 9, opens the album with its lively Allegro non troppo, setting the stage for a journey through a variety of moods and tempos. The Vivace and Andante non troppo movements offer a contrast in pace and emotion, while the Allegro moderato finale brings the octet to a thrilling close. The Quintet for Piano & Winds in F Major, Op. 55, follows, with its own set of dynamic and expressive movements. From the Allegro non troppo's gentle opening to the Allegro appassionato's fiery conclusion, this quintet is a showcase of Rubinstein's ability to write for a diverse ensemble.

Performed by Thomas Duis and the Consortium Classicum, this album is a must-listen for fans of classical music and chamber works. The precision and passion of the performers bring Rubinstein's compositions to life, offering a fresh perspective on these timeless pieces. Whether you're a longtime admirer of Rubinstein's music or a newcomer to his work, this album is sure to captivate and inspire. With a total runtime of 1 hour and 16 minutes, it's the perfect way to spend an afternoon or evening, lost in the beautiful sounds of Anton Rubinstein's Chamber Works.
