      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Anton Rubinstein's timeless compositions with this remarkable album, released on July 1, 2012, by Centaur Records, Inc. This collection showcases Rubinstein's virtuosity and versatility, offering a rich tapestry of musical styles that span from the fiery passion of the tango to the grandeur of classical concertos.

The album opens with "Caprice Russe (Russian Capriccio), Op. 102," a piece that encapsulates the essence of Russian folk music, blending it seamlessly with Rubinstein's own innovative style. Following this is the magnificent "Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-Flat Major, Op. 94," a work that demonstrates Rubinstein's mastery of the concerto form. The concerto is divided into three movements: the lively "Allegro moderato," the serene "Andante," and the exuberant "Allegro," each offering a unique emotional landscape.

The album concludes with the dramatic "Overture to Der Thurm zu Babel, Op. 80," a piece that draws from Rubinstein's "sacred opera" of the same name. This overture is a powerful testament to Rubinstein's ability to convey deep, complex emotions through his music.

Performances by Grigorios Zamparas and the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic bring these works to life with precision and passion, making this album a true celebration of Anton Rubinstein's enduring musical legacy. With a duration of 1 hour and 14 minutes, this album is a perfect companion for those seeking to explore the depths of Rubinstein's musical genius.
