      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Alessandro Rolla's "6 quartetti per flauto e archi," a captivating collection of flute quartets that showcase the composer's virtuosity and the exquisite interplay between flute and strings. Released on October 1, 2012, by the esteemed label Tactus, this album is a testament to Rolla's enduring legacy in the classical music realm.

The album spans a total of 1 hour and 18 minutes, featuring six quartets, each composed of three distinct movements. The quartets are performed by the talented Quartetto Erasmus, with Mario Carbotta on the flute, accompanied by the skilled musicians Pianezzola, Trevisani, Martelli, and Scandelli. The ensemble's mastery is evident in every note, as they bring Rolla's compositions to life with precision and passion.

From the serene and contemplative "Largo" movements to the lively and spirited "Allegretto" and "Presto" sections, each piece offers a unique journey through the emotional and technical landscape of Rolla's music. The album includes standout tracks such as the "Flute Quartet No. 2 in E-Flat Major: II. Minuetto" and the "Flute Quartet No. 6 in B-Flat Major: II. Moderato," which highlight the ensemble's dynamic range and the composer's ingenious use of the flute's expressive capabilities.

Alessandro Rolla, an Italian composer and violinist of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, was known for his innovative and technically demanding compositions. His flute quartets, in particular, are celebrated for their intricate melodies and harmonies, as well as their exploration of the flute's full potential. This album is a perfect introduction to Rolla's work for those new to his music, and a delightful addition to the collections of seasoned classical music enthusiasts.

"6 quartetti per flauto e archi" is not just a collection of beautiful music; it is a celebration of the flute's versatility and the enduring appeal of classical chamber music. Whether you are a fan of Alessandro Rolla or simply appreciate the artistry of the flute, this album is sure to captivate and inspire.
