      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Spanish classical music with Joaquín Rodrigo's masterful compositions, presented in this exquisite album. Released on October 31, 2006, under the Naxos label, this collection features some of Rodrigo's most celebrated works, performed with exquisite precision and passion.

The album kicks off with "Concierto serenata," a three-movement suite that showcases Rodrigo's ability to blend traditional Spanish music with classical orchestration. The first movement, "Estudiantina," sets a lively and engaging tone, while the "Intermezzo con aria" offers a moment of reflective beauty. The suite concludes with the spirited "Sarao," a lively dance that brings the piece to a thrilling close.

Next, enjoy the captivating "Sones en la Giralda (Fantasia Sevillana)," a work that evokes the vibrant sounds and colors of Seville, one of Spain's most iconic cities.

The centerpiece of the album is undoubtedly the "Concierto de Aranjuez," one of the most famous works in the classical guitar repertoire. This version, arranged for harp and orchestra, offers a fresh perspective on Rodrigo's timeless masterpiece. The concerto's three movements—"Allegro con spirito," "Adagio," and "Allegro gentile"—each tell a unique story, from the playful and energetic opening to the serene and introspective middle movement, and finally, the joyous and triumphant conclusion.

With a total duration of 58 minutes, this album is a treasure trove of Spanish classical music, performed by some of the finest musicians in the genre. Whether you're a longtime fan of Joaquín Rodrigo or a newcomer to his music, this album is sure to captivate and inspire.
