      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Ottorino Respighi with this captivating album, featuring a trio of his most evocative orchestral works. Recorded in 2018 by the renowned Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège under the baton of Brazilian conductor John Neschling, this release showcases Respighi's unique ability to blend vivid imagery with rich, lyrical melodies.

The album opens with "Trittico botticelliano, P. 151," a trio of pieces inspired by the paintings of Sandro Botticelli. Respighi masterfully translates the Italian Renaissance master's iconic works into sound, with each movement capturing the essence of "La primavera," "L'adorazione dei Magi," and "La nascita di Venere."

Next, experience the haunting beauty of "Il tramonto, P. 101," a poignant evocation of a sunset, where Respighi's lush harmonies and evocative orchestration paint a vivid aural landscape.

The album concludes with "Vetrate di chiesa, P. 150," a cycle of four pieces inspired by the stained-glass windows of Italian churches. Each movement brings to life a different religious scene, from the flight into Egypt to the morning prayers of Saint Clare, culminating in a majestic tribute to Saint Gregory the Great.

Featuring the stunning vocals of Anna Caterina Antonacci, this album offers a rich and immersive exploration of Respighi's orchestral genius. With a total duration of one hour and six minutes, it's an essential addition to any classical music enthusiast's collection.
