      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the rich, evocative sounds of Ottorino Respighi with this captivating collection of his orchestral masterpieces. Released on June 3, 2022, by Linn Records, this album showcases Respighi's distinctive compositional style, blending classical and neoclassical influences to create a unique auditory experience.

The album opens with "Pini di Roma," a vivid botanical journey through Rome's iconic pine trees, captured at different times of the day. Each of the four movements paints a distinct scene, from the serene Villa Borghese to the ancient Via Appia, offering a symphonic tour of the Eternal City.

Next, "Impressioni brasiliane" transports you to the vibrant landscapes of Brazil, inspired by Respighi's visit to the country. This three-movement suite captures the essence of the Brazilian countryside, from the lush tropical nights to the lively dances and songs of its people.

The album concludes with "Belkis, regina di Saba," a dramatic and evocative work inspired by the biblical Queen of Sheba. This four-movement suite is a testament to Respighi's ability to create vivid, narrative-driven music, with each section depicting a different scene from the queen's story.

Performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Alessandro Crudele, this album is a stunning showcase of Respighi's orchestral prowess. With a total duration of 1 hour and 7 minutes, it's an engaging listen from start to finish, offering a deep dive into the composer's unique musical language.
