      About Lily Laskine

      Lily Laskine, born in Paris to Russian immigrant parents, was a harp virtuoso whose career spanned an impressive eight decades. Her musical journey began under the tutelage of Alphonse Hasselmans at the Conservatoire de Paris, where she later became a professor herself from 1948 to 1958. Laskine's collaborations with renowned flautists like Marcel Moyse and Jean-Pierre Rampal showcased her exceptional talent and versatility. She served as a harpist in the orchestra of the Paris Opera for over 30 years and was a member of the National Orchestra of French Radio. Her extensive discography includes a 14-CD set that highlights her remarkable recording career. Laskine's dedication to her craft earned her the Legion of Honour in 1958, cementing her legacy as one of the most prominent harpists of the twentieth century.
