      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of classical music with André Navarra's captivating album, "Ravel: Spanish Rhapsody - Lalo: Cello Concerto - Enescu: Romanian Rhapsodies Nos. 1 & 2." Released on May 30, 2000, under the Supraphon label, this album is a testament to Navarra's virtuosity and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra's exquisite artistry under the baton of Constantin Silvestri.

The album opens with Maurice Ravel's "Rhapsodie espagnole," a vibrant and colorful suite that transports listeners to the heart of Spain. The four movements, from the haunting "Prélude à la nuit" to the lively "Feria," showcase Navarra's technical prowess and expressive depth.

Following Ravel's Spanish journey, the album shifts to Édouard Lalo's "Cello Concerto in D Minor." This concerto is a cornerstone of the cello repertoire, and Navarra's performance is both powerful and nuanced. The three movements, each distinct in character, highlight the cello's range and Navarra's mastery of the instrument.

The album concludes with George Enescu's "Romanian Rhapsodies Nos. 1 & 2." These rhapsodies are lively and rhythmic, drawing on Romanian folk music to create a vivid and engaging listening experience. Navarra's performance is energetic and precise, bringing these pieces to life with a sense of joy and spontaneity.

With a total duration of 1 hour and 4 minutes, this album is a comprehensive exploration of some of the most beloved works in the cello repertoire. Whether you're a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, André Navarra's "Ravel: Spanish Rhapsody - Lalo: Cello Concerto - Enescu: Romanian Rhapsodies Nos. 1 & 2" is a must-listen.
