      Album Details

"Project Hungarica" by Szymon Krzeszowiec is a captivating exploration of Hungarian chamber music, released on May 27, 2016, under the CD Accord label. This album is a testament to the rich musical heritage of Hungary, featuring works by esteemed composers Miklós Rózsa and Zoltán Kodály. Spanning a duration of 59 minutes, the album showcases a diverse collection of pieces, including sonatas for solo violin, duets for violin and cello, and sonatas for two violins.

Szymon Krzeszowiec, a renowned violinist and chamber musician, takes the lead in this musical journey, accompanied by Bartłomiej Nizioł on violin and Adam Krzeszowiec on cello. The album opens with Rózsa's Sonata for Solo Violin, Op. 40, a piece that highlights Krzeszowiec's virtuosic skill and expressive depth. The sonata's three movements—Allegro moderato, Canzone con variazioni, and Finale. Vivace—offer a dynamic range of emotions and technical challenges.

The album continues with Rózsa's Sonata for 2 Violins, Op. 15a, featuring Krzeszowiec and Nizioł in a lively and engaging dialogue. The sonata's three movements—Allegro risoluto, Lento assai, and Vivo e giocoso—demonstrate the composers' mastery of form and the performers' ability to bring these intricate pieces to life.

Kodály's Duo for Violin & Cello, Op. 7, rounds out the album with its three movements—Allegro serioso, non troppo, Adagio - Andante, and Maestoso e largamente, ma non troppo lento - Presto. This piece showcases the unique chemistry between Krzeszowiec and Adam Krzeszowiec, delivering a performance that is both technically impressive and emotionally resonant.

"Project Hungarica" is not just an album but a celebration of Hungarian musical tradition, brought to life by some of the most talented musicians in the field. Whether you are a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this album offers a rich and rewarding listening experience.
