      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Baroque music with Johann Christoph Pepusch's "Play it - Study Album - Alto Recorder / Altblockflöte." Released on June 8, 2006, this captivating album is a treasure trove of Pepusch's Six Recorder Sonatas, Op. 2a, featuring Sonatas No. 1 through 3. Each sonata is a masterclass in composition, showcasing Pepusch's intricate melodies and harmonies, accompanied by the delicate resonance of the harpsichord.

The album spans a generous 1 hour and 40 minutes, offering a rich and immersive listening experience. Each sonata is presented in multiple tempos, providing a comprehensive study tool for musicians and an engaging exploration for listeners. The sonatas are meticulously performed with a concert pitch of A' = 440 Hz, ensuring a pure and authentic sound.

From the soothing Adagios to the lively Allegros, Pepusch's compositions take you on a journey through a variety of emotions and moods. The Sonata No. 1 in C Major, with its graceful and elegant melodies, contrasts beautifully with the more introspective and somber tones of the Sonata No. 2 in D Minor. This album is not just a collection of sonatas; it's a testament to Pepusch's musical genius and a celebration of the alto recorder's timeless beauty. Whether you're a seasoned musician or a casual listener, "Play it - Study Album - Alto Recorder / Altblockflöte" is a must-explore addition to your music collection.
